John is a retired Registered Professional Electrical Engineer who worked in the broadcast industry for over 50 years, retiring from KLCC, the local NPR station. A Board member since 2002, he served ten terms as our president, providing strong guidance during some of the EMCA’s formative years. A believer in future planning, he’s proud to have been instrumental in establishing the first endowment for the cemetery.
John has headed up several rehabilitation projects including the Hope Abbey lavatory and electric light restoration, as well as the extensive landscape water distribution project. He is the coordinator for the Hope Abbey music series, Music To Die For, and he also edits and publishes the monthly EMCA enewsletter. He also does a few behind-the-scenes jobs such as keeping the organization roster current, expediting the production of the Monumental News newsletter, facilitating the painting of the Garden Cottage, and some other odd jobs nobody else wants to do.
