Beatrice McKenzie retired from Beloit College, where she served as Professor of U.S. History (2006-2021) and Keefer Professor of Public Humanities. She is married with two adult children. In 2021 she published the biography of a Chinese family that overcame hardship to thrive in the midwestern United States. She hopes to bring a passion for historical research and writing to the individuals and descendants of those buried in the Masonic Cemetery and to bring less-known stories to the public.
