Ariana White

Ariana spent her formative years in Napa Valley, California, where the local cemetery was a work of art created by Italian stonemasons who had immigrated to the United States. Since then, she has been on a personal mission to visit every burial ground in the area where she lives. In Lane County, the Masonic Cemetery is by far the most beautiful and interesting.

Firmly believing that history is an important part of place, she uses her MS in Geography to consider the local cemeteries, their placement and their inhabitants as contributing to the formation of the city we live in. Paradoxically, the stories of the dead bring the past of the surrounding area to life.
